In the Forks and Knives course there's a cooking task for Garlic Mushrooms that calls for madeira or marsala wine. Is there a substitute one can use for these?

Answer:

Um, uh, so yes, in this particular assignment, um, these wines, um, we wanna think about the, the function, right? As I started out, uh, you know, talking about, uh, in today's program, we're making a substitution. So think about the function of the ingredient that we're removing. In this case, the, the function is flavor and, uh, aroma two, but, but, you know, but those are closely entwined. So I'll, I'll use the word flavor here. So we simply replace it with another flavorful liquid. And, um, you know, the all purpose go-to is gonna be a stock. And, uh, you know, vegetable stock works for everybody. And if you're in some other setting, you know, maybe it's chicken stock or something else.
